Hanford is the county seat of Kings County, California. It is a vigorously growing community featuring many new shopping and housing developments. Lemoore Naval Air Station is located approximately 15 miles west of Hanford. Hanford is also the largest community near the three Kings County correctional facilities: Corcoran State Prison, Avenal State Prison and Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga, California.
Amtrak passes right through Hanford and the station is within walking distance of Lacey West Apartments. The Kings Area Rapid Transit (KART) bus system has a stop within a block of the complex.
The new Hanford Mall, an enclosed regional shopping center featuring Gottschalks, JC Penney, Mervyn's, Sears and Movies 8 is within one-half mile of Lacey West. Wal-Mart, Orchard Supply, Blockbuster, Staples and restaurants such as Denny's, Sizzler and Applebee's are all within one-half mile of Lacey West.
Lacey West is located directly across from the Kings County Government Center and Hanford Community Hospital.
